What’s Under the Figleaf?
Good! I grabbed your attention–something you want to do in any presentation. And I want to keep your attention in 2009 with articles and tips that help you the most.
It’s All About YOU
So maybe you’re not the most flamboyant speaker. Does it matter?
Boosting Your Authentic Speaking
Jump-Start Learning
This simple activity works magically to focus your participants’ minds and sharpen their listening.
Tell participants to:
- Pair up.
- Create a list of 3 important facts about the topic that they THINK you will cover in your presentation.
- CIRCLE items on their lists that you mention during your lecture.
Debrief: Which concepts did you include or not include in your presentation? Why?
Note–be sure to debrief. It’s where learning occurs!
Tricks for Training
Try projecting one of these amazing illusions to make a point in a training or presentation.
See You Again in January
I want to thank everyone who has written with comments, suggestions, and kudos during 2008. Your input has buoyed and inspired me. Happy Holidays.
